Designed specifically for teachers, this workshop and guided field trip of Shing Mun River Catchment will enhance participants’ knowledge of rivers in the local context. A comprehensive database and drone videos on Shing Mun River will be presented in the workshop to introduce the multiple features of river. A field trip of Shing Mun River begins at a catchwater in the upper course to highlight major waterworks of the river. Participants will also visit a site designated for river revitalisation and a brackish water area where the former estuary was located at. Through this programme, they will familiarise themselves with river channel management issues in Hong Kong as well as the environmental impacts of waterworks to both upper and lower courses of river.

專為老師設計的城門河工作坊和流域考察可增加參加者對城門河的認識。工作坊將以河流資料庫和城門河的航拍影片以介紹河流的多種特徵。我們的考察將會先從城門河的上游的引水道出發，了解該河流的主要水務工程。其後會到中下游考察河道活化方案的選址和位處舊河口附近的鹹淡水交界區。透過這活動，參加者將了解香港的河道管理問題以及水務工程對河流上下游的環境影響。
