Abstract
Water sustains life on earth, yet the importance of attaining water sustainability has been overlooked by society-at-large in Hong Kong. The lecture will start by reviewing Hong Kong’s per capita water consumption situation from a global perspective. It will then introduce the notion of Water Footprint, an innovative concept that would help us visualise and understand the direct and indirect impacts of our consumption habits on local and distant freshwater resources.
