Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are the activity contents suitable for English as Medium of Instruction School and international schools?
A: All activity contents and teaching resources provided by JC-WISE are bilingual. Teachers can teach their students using the English resources after training. However, trainings and workshops for Core Activities, River Tours and Creative Artworks will be delivered in Cantonese.
   
Q: Is it possible for school to participate in either Core Activities or Extended Activities?
A: Yes. The JC-WISE Team will contact you after registering with our Programme.
   
Q: Can teachers join only part of training courses for Core Activities?
A: Yes, but we encourage the teachers to join the full training courses to get a holistic understanding, before deciding on which Core Activity to enrol in.
   
Q: If teachers have participated in previous JC-WISE workshop and guided field trip, it is necessary to participate the training again?
A: Not necessary. Teachers who have attended previous workshops and guided field trips according to our record, can organise river tours for their students to visit any of the selected rivers under “My River, My Community” Scheme. We would still welcome all teachers to join our trainings, but the priority will be given to the teachers who haven’t participated any trainings before.
   
Q: What are Creative Artwork Workshops?
A: Artists of different genre will be invited to share their artistic experiences and demonstrate creating artworks.
   
Q: Is it necessary to join the workshops organised by JC-WISE Team to complete the Creative Artwork?
A: No, we encourage schools to create their own artworks, in any forms, that focus on the themes of water sustainability and water conservation.
   
Q: How do teachers obtain the interactive teaching materials?
A: The JC-WISE Team will publish the list of interactive teaching materials at “Blue-Green School Partnership Programme” website for download or loan. Teachers can use them in lessons and submit to us the evaluation questionnaires or reports as a record of completion.
   
Q: Can teacher adopt or modify the interactive teaching materials for own use?
A: Our interactive teaching materials are open to public. If teachers only adopt part of or modify our teaching materials, please credit the work accordingly. However, whether partial adoption or modification of our interactive teaching materials would count towards completion of this extended activity, will be at the discretion of the JC-WISE Team.
   
Q: What are the criteria for completing the Core Activities or Extended Activities ?
A: After delivering each activity, schools should complete and submit the relevant evaluation questionnaires or reports to reflect the effectiveness on students’ knowledge, attitude and behaviour.
   
Q: Who are the members in the Award Committee of Excellence Award?
A: The Award Committee of Excellence Award will be formed by the representatives of Universities and Non-Governmental Organizations.
